Is it possible to have an LHA in the zip file, guys? That would be really nice for those who do emulation.

(+2)

We will be updating the WHDLoad shortly to maske it easier for emulation :)

thanx a lot !

I noticed the boxed version is sold out, will there be any more later?

We're hoping for enough demand to do another physical run in the future :-)

Thanks for the reply, hope you do! I'm just sad I missed it this time around :-(

Please add a high score table to this awesome Rogue like game👍

I really enjoy this game on my PiMiga (Pi400). Next step is to play it on my A1200. Great work and addictive gameplay.

Fun and addictive game and great to see how much additional polish it received since it's AmiGameJam Demo. I play it every evening on my Analogue Pocket (with CRT filter, brilliant!) before bedtime. Feels very complete in it's final, although I would surely support if it gets expanded somewhen.

Three minor things I personally would consider now:

1.) Mayor part of gameplay is to walk the right path to get the first hit on the monsters. However, when you walk against an obstacle you don't move since 'blocked' but enemies still do their turn.

2.) I like that two potions change their effect each time you play, but red potions should be health. It always is and I think this game is the only exception.

3.) To make the rogue playstyle more tactical: Instead of teleporting somewhere randomly, it may always teleport to an adjacent cell of an enemy and grant 100% hit probability for the first strike. Weaker than warrior but sneaky.

That's it. Congrats for release and looking forward to your next game, hopefully 'AMMIGGGAAAH' aswell ;-)

The game is impressive in every aspect. It brings the old days joy. I miss highscore table, but I've read already the explanation why is so. The sprite animation is so good but only when going down or right. Going left or up doesn't seem to look right. I wonder why is so. Why can't we see back views of characters? Anyways, great job. I appreciate that.

Hi there. Thank you!

The reason we only show two directions for player and monsters is both because we were originally targeting OCS, and also time constraints for Henning the artist. We wanted to do the best work we could within those constraints, and doubling the amount of animations would have meant reducing other things. 😊

The demo was addictive, the full game is good too, but something is missing. Considering the amount of time it takes to finish a game, the game feels slightly too similar. After some levels there's a lack of change in terms of levels, monsters and character. It feels weird that you can change the direction for a magic missile only by walking into that direction, there is no rotation only. Some change of music during the game or a different one, a variation, for each character could have been nice.

Excellent game. I played a little bit for the video, but I want to play some more. I also added it to my new "Gameplay of New Amiga Games from August 2024" video along with all the other recently released Amiga games.

Thank you! And thanks for including Roguecraft in your video! 😊

Hello, thanx for this great game ! It could be perfect to have a .lha file instead of adf..

(1 edit) (+1)

I get error msg when trying to run with fs-uae. With .adf version I get "Unable to load sys:roguecraft.exe: Error code 103. (stock A500) With WHDload I get "Can't allocate ExpMem. (A1200 workbench) With .adf (A1200) it works great. Loving the game!

Nice! Looking forward to my boxed version!

Very good job guys. Couldn't await the release and here we go.
Only things I came across were, that the ADF version didn't start on my stock Amiga 500 (with ACA500Plus expansion). Tried Kickstart 1.2 & 1.3 with different memory setups, but it failed with error code 103.
The WHDLoad version runs like a charm.
Mmh, what about the Effect Timer in the bottom right corner? I haven't seen any timers, even when using potions or the teleportation of the rogue?
Anyway, grrrrreat game, like Rogue64. Very addictive!
Cheers.

Hi and thank you! Code 103 means not enough memory.

Roguecraft needs at least 1MB Chip RAM, which you should have with the ACA500 if you have a Rev5 or above motherboard (ECS Agnus).

If you have multiple hard disks, then the drivers for them eat quite a bit of memory, so you could try disabling at least one of the hard disks at boot, and the game should run from ADF too on the A500. 😊

Hi there I run a fairly successful YouTube channel "Just Jamie" and have currently obtained a subscription base of over 21.6k, I specialise in emulation and cover and new games for old platforms. In fact. I have covered TheC64 Maxi and A500 Mini in the past as well as regularly upload new Amiga game plays. I am constantly searching for new retro-related products/software to showcase and review to gain the scene a wider audience that it deserves and I have got a fairly large micro computing fan base. I am extremely knowledgeable with Commodore, Spectrum, and Atari and know that your products would be successful. Do you have a sample of anything for me to showcase/provide a tutorial for my audience? I am happy to read from a script if necessary too or provide my own. As of now I would be interesting specifically in a demo version of RogueCraft and Cecconoid to review. Here is a recent review of AmiKit that Jan (Creator) provided me with: https://youtu.be/wrpTS029tk8?si=Imqm-B-yQjOeybLy You can find my main channel here: https://youtube.com/@justjamie1983?si=1BDD2QcyeKUpQEd3 I hope to hear from you soon. All the best Jamie

For me, the game of the year 2024. It was worth to give even more than the actual special price. The isometric graphics are fantastic. The music is great (why is there a menu item to switch it off ;-) ?) The gameplay is addictive. I only wanted to play it briefly and got stuck for 2 hours. Everything looks very polished, as if it were a game from the best Amiga days. Works fine on real machine under 060 and OS 3.2. Does it make sense to maybe add a highscore list with level reached, points, number of kills, and maybe with a playtime timer in the background? Otherwise I hope the Amiga will see more games from BadgerPunch. Thanks for bringing it to the Amiga. Its really a highlight!!!

Wow. Thank you!😊
Regarding highscore table, we had considered it, but ended up not going that way because of the random nature of the game.

Maybe in a sequel in the future we will add a highscore with the random seed and a way to enter that seed so you can try beating the score with the same levels generated. Thanks for the suggestion! 😊

(+1)

Thanks and no problem with the highscore table. Hopefully it is so successfull that you do a sequel ;-)

Works really nice on Analogue Pocket!!!
